Hello Mr. Jim Barry! Recently we got stuck into this 2017 Watervale Riesling from the Clare Valley (SA) which went down... very easily at $16 a bottle.
It’s a very pale lemon colour on the eye. The nose is floral, fruity and vibrant with a hint of musk sticks. In the mouth it’s full of juicy pear and lemon & lime flavours. It’s dry, crisp and clean.

Lighter in colour than my usual Riesling's. A nice balance between citrus and sweet. Smells extremely oaky yet taste pleasantly nice. Aftertaste is a little bit sour.

May 23rd, 2020Wow, acid is here and that's for sure. Utterly refreshing, peppery lime nose. Grapefruit, gave, bitter lime but all very balanced. I could drink a bucket.

I made this. I love this. You need this. Poured this blind and it completely dumbfounded wine-newbie friends who though Riesling was always sweet. Ripping acidity and great balance for the price. Everything a Clare Valley Riesling should be.
