Vintage Tunina Venezia Giulia White Blend

The 2020 Vintage Tunina is smokey and understated in the glass, with mint and sage complementing crushed yellow apples. This enters the palate with a pleasant inner sweetness and soft textures, traversing candied citrus and saline-tinged orchard fruits. The 2020 finishes with decent length and concentration, leaving a salty flourish and crystalline mineral tones that add an almost crunchy sensation. That said, the 2020 could use more time in bottle to evolve aromatically. (Eric Guido, Vinous, April 2023)

Grapefruit, lemon. Very floral, like muscadelle. Bright and precise. Pretty.

Big and broad. Sweet lemon and corn. Honeysuckle. Quite alcoholic. Fresh, given its age

Young peaches and pears are complemented by notes of wet slate and yellow flowers as the 2019 Vintage Tunina unfolds in the glass. It balances savory mineral tension with a pretty inner sweetness, coming across round in feel yet motivated by brisk acidity. Hints of candied lime and green apple linger through the zesty finale, pinching at the cheeks with citrusy concentration. Cellaring might reveal further depths, yet the 2019 is already enjoyable on its zesty fruit-forward character. That said, I don’t find the seriousness or aging potential that you would expect here. The Vintage Tunina is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia Istriana and Picolit. (Eric Guido, Vinous, April 2022)

Friuli-Venezia white blend complete with butt ugly label. Nice wine though, orchard fruit and melon and dried flowers and meadow grass
