Jean-Marc Millot
Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru Pinot Noir
Flagey-Echézeaux, Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, FranceMore substance than the echezeaux, dense core, musty cherries but elegant at the same time, first time ever experience of this cuvée. Needs patience will be wonderful in next 10 years.

This was just stunning. One of those rare but complete Burgundy moments you dream about...
By a good head the best bottle of Burgundy I’ve had in a long time (from any producer, including a number of DRC La Tache etc.). A rare purity of fruit and intent - with a focused, peacock-tail like depth and length that just went on and on. A wonderful mix of redcurrents, raspberries, rhubarb, white pepper, and pomegranates, with a superb cut of scintillating acidity. The kind of wine that puts all the modern over-ripe Burgundies produced today into sharp focus. Why on Earth would any sane person aim for something other than this...

Nice lift. Good concentration. Sweet fruit. Balance. Really enjoyable stuff.

05 opening up! Finally showing some depth and mid-palate with generous fruit.

Dark and deep, hints of dried strawberries and intense raspberry. Tannins and acidity in a perfect balance. This is really good and complex. There is a dense core to it.

A bit thin to begin with, but opened up in a really lovely way. Deep almost floral tones.
