Montchoisy Morgon Gamay

Gamay, deep Ruby (one of the darkest) with aromas of black fruits, spices with slight seeet notes. On the palate flavors of cherry and black plum with cacao notes. Fine soft tannins, lively acidity, medium+ finish ending with fruit light spice. Drink now!

Have to admit my mind was blown by what I formerly considered just a “party” wine. Nice dry fruit, great structure, and soft tannins. Excellent with Mother’s Day chicken salad sandwiches on croissants!

High acid. Minimal fruit. A bit muted on the palate unfortunately as I had higher expectations for this one. Acceptable nonetheless.

I expected more out of this given it's 93-pt pro rating, but it wasn't as interesting as some other Morgons I've had. Nice red fruit and earth aromas but not the complexity I hoped for, even in a Gamay.

Deep red cranberry, mushroom, soily and earthy minerality that is tart and acidic with bitter note at end

Black berries. Fruit forward but not light. Very good Beaujolais. Drank with trigger fish, couscous, and grilled shrimp in white wine butter sauce. Very good pairing even though a slightly bolder Beaujolais.

Nice approachable Morgon Gamay.

Very fresh and nice. I really like this red fruit cherries and freshness especially.

2017 in 3/21. Excited to find some Cru Beauj older that '18 and at $20. 13% ......
