Baby Corton according to the winemaker. Can't really agree this time, but I feel that's largely due to the less-than-ideal bottle condition. Detected this musk and charred fruit character on the nose, and a slight bitterness in the finish. Nothing too offensive, but I still think the wine wasn't showing it's best. Lots of red fruits on the nose and palate, with spice and herbal undertones. Leans on the riper side. Mid-weight body that's quite smooth. Would be nice to revisit better-stored iterations, given the usually high rating of this bottling.

On the nose, red and dark fruit, spice, rose petals, red cherry, sweet tobacco, and cocoa. On the palate, dry tannins, med finish, and m+ intensity.

Wonderful Pinot we purchased at an event with Jean-Michael and Gina Gallo. My kind of Pinot, must be from cool temps since it doesn’t have the super earthy flavor I don’t care for.
