Baby Corton according to the winemaker. Can't really agree this time, but I feel that's largely due to the less-than-ideal bottle condition. Detected this musk and charred fruit character on the nose, and a slight bitterness in the finish. Nothing too offensive, but I still think the wine wasn't showing it's best. Lots of red fruits on the nose and palate, with spice and herbal undertones. Leans on the riper side. Mid-weight body that's quite smooth. Would be nice to revisit better-stored iterations, given the usually high rating of this bottling.

Mar 19th, 2015Wonderful Pinot we purchased at an event with Jean-Michael and Gina Gallo. My kind of Pinot, must be from cool temps since it doesn’t have the super earthy flavor I don’t care for.
