Strawberries, wild berries, cherry - abundance of red fruit on the nose. Dried herbs, some VA, then something very subtle almost like tar. On the palate, neutral old bbl funk, acid, with an almost saline mineral finish. Old school all the way. Would be interesting to revisit in another 5+ years, as long as VA isn’t on the rise.

Decanted for 4 hours, taking a sip every half hour. My personal favorite was about an hour in as the wine became less austere and elegantly complex, but retained this beautiful ashtray quality that dissipated slowly. At the four hour mark, it was gone completely, and though at that time it was a beautiful wine, I missed the smoke. This wine is definitely an experience and a great way to quiz your palate. Would love to store some away.

Intriguing. Sandalwood and thyme on the nose, with fresh leather, white peppercorn, and menthol. Bright with tart cherries on the initial entry, ripe red raspberries and blackberries filling out the mid-palate, and finishing in medium length. Soft, powdery tannins.

Transported to the French countryside with this wine. It is of a different time and place all together. Fragile. Elegant. Floral. Funky. This wine has it all. Going to the hideout for a while since I stole this for roughly $22.
