Wallufer Berg Bildstock trocken Riesling

A shockingly clean and dry Riesling with subtle skittles-like aroma. Significantly more enjoyable on day 2 (a decanter not available to me). I am far from an expert on this stuff but I would imagine some more years under the belt might help this yield more? Acid for days but not aggressive. Just tightly wound. A fascinating encounter.

Especially focused and mineral considering the vintage; pretty austere.

Far more austere than I expected given the vintage. Toed the line but kept it in check with stunning aromatics.

A high-acid, mouth-puckering assault on the palate. Tightly wound even with a decant, I can’t imagine this on a pop n pour. Layers of mineral & tart fruit; hint of petrol comes almost as a respite from the onslaught. Ok maybe I’m slightly exaggerating. Cool wine.

More acid than I thought. Not as harsh as others described. Good for clean seafood.

Dis shit fyre with some tendon and Peking at Full House. Could use some chili tho 🔥
