Special block and For a California Pinot in particular, David nailed it on this one. It’s remarkable how well it’s held up. The tannins were so so minute to begin with yet the fruit structure is solid and even has moderate chewy tannins. The nose still rises from the glass and shows gratifying earth tones and subtle bing cherry. Some might find the taste too thin, but a trained/skilled palate will find the weight/mouthfeel is on point, and the complexity is there. And it is just SO. Damn. Sexy SMOOTH. And then u pair it e braised beef and a while mother world opens up 😩 Elegance 👌🏼

Our third Iron Horse wine in 2 days. This is my favorite Iron Horse Pinot Noir. Smooth as silk, full of strawberry and cherry flavors, simply delicious with roasted duck, butternut squash, Brussels sprouts, and kapusta (a surprise hit). Maybe a bit young to be pulling the cork, but you couldn't prove it by me. Fortunately, there's more in the cellar. I'll look forward to seeing how it ages.

Think bright red fruit on the nose. On the palate I get plums and pomegranate with some very slight hints of star anise. The tannins are young but not overwhelming and the acidity is just right. An elegant Green Valley RRV Pinot.
