The flagship old vines bottling of this estate, it livened up an otherwise rather dull corporate holiday dinner. No detailed notes as I’m catching up on old posts but it was absolutely stunning, notably earth and mineral driven.

This has got a roundness atypical of Etna that makes me wonder whether there's a big chunk of Grenache in the field blend

Reminiscent of Nebbiolo...earthy and long finish.

Oldest Nerello that I have tasted. Should have decanted, much more open on the third night. This is a darker, heavier Nerello. ´Even the color is a dark, opaque ruby-brick but it does have a very thin, ruby pink rim.
Fruit is dried black cherry, black plum, blackberry. A little chalky with med+ tannins. I think I would have liked to have drunk this a little younger.
