Really good mouthfeel and balanced tannins, red fruits, sweet. Pretty good, but not as good a value as I'd like.

Bordeaux-esque Merlot from Italy. Light, with lots of secondary notes coming through. Drink now.

Goes to show that I have never been steered wrong by Weygandt Wines. This is lovely, old-world merlot. Earthy, aromatically rich and textured but not heavy. Right bank without the heavy oak. Damn fine wine. Only negative is that this is fairly secondary for a 2009, with resolved tannins so wouldn't hold long.

Like an old Bordeaux style merlot. Barnyard on the nose. Earthy wet soil and black plums.

Floral nose and earthy. Hints of mushrooms. Nicely resolving tannins. Balanced. Nice drinking.

This is an absurdly exciting wine. Merlot from North-East Italy is simply not like Merlot from anywhere else. This wine is full of anthracite or carbon, but also soured fruit and thorns. It's Page and Plant in one. F@$k yes.
