This wine was clearly made with high aspirations, and it meets them. It’s pretty extracted, but the tannins, while still present in abundance, are starting to settle out. The nose is complex and intense. Dark cassis, graphite, fragrant high-toned smoke, even a floral note. Good acidity. The flavors coat the palate and cling with tenacity. Probably better in 3-5, but fantastic now.

Today's wine is the 2012 Hunt McKay Morisoli Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.

On the nose is rich black fruit which is pleasant to the senses. I am getting notes of blackberry, black cherry, black currant, dark chocolate, graphite and violets.

The palate is confirmed with brooding dark fruit, black cherry, blackberry, black currant, vanilla, smoky oak and rich earth.

The wine is a well balanced full velvety smooth body, medium + acidity, medium + smooth tannins and a long pleasing finish. An enjoyable wine all around. Have a wonderful week and as always be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

2013 - Luscious, dark fruit, in your face bouquet; great mouthfeel with slightly tannic white pepper, long finish. Great Napa Cab. Lots of pigment left on the palate.

Channeled my inner @Paul Treadway Huntington Beacher and popped this right off the truck from Last Bottle. Nice big nose and palate with bright red fruit and what I guess they call Rutherford dust. No way was it worth the $125 winery price (perhaps why they aren't around anymore) but for $50 bucks it's a great deal.
