Wednesday Wine Committee from this past week. A fantastic hosting by @joe leatherwood . 1 sparkler, 2 whites, 5 reds, 1 dessert wine. All tasted blind as usual.

I had this wine a year and a half ago...and I think it may be better now! Still hard for me to wrap my head around Hundred Acre tasting and aging like this. Brilliant bright ruby in the glass. Soft cherries, sweet ripe black cherries, sandalwood, nutmeg and added baking spices. Very balanced and elegant on the palate...cherries jubilee and liqueur, sweet kirsch and licorice. Drinking beautifully! I was between old Napa cab and Italian merlot.

Another stellar wine from Mike and Rhonda.
A lovely surprise. Not your typical bombastic cab. A model of balance and restraint. Moderate sweetness combines with subtle acidity. Subtle sweetness combines with coffee and tobacco notes. Finish is like sinking into a black hole. This will cellar for donkeys years.

Dark inky fruit, sweet tobacco, and a lingering berry compote finish.

Not as jammy as Astralis but fairly ok. Just bombastic.

Surprisingly disappointing. Maybe just too young but doesn't seem to have the richness of the vintage. If you have this wine don't drink it. Hold it for another 3 to 5 years and see what happens.

Not a problem at all with this bottle. A huge wine which drinks extremely smooth. Extended time in oak paid off well. #awesome2011 !! Lol

This wine has a bit if a flaw in the nose. But has nice fruit in the palate.
