Ark Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

There's many more years left on this, but it's completely drinkable now. Elegance is the word.

A dark ruby red for sure. Cassis, red fruit and perfume blast off the nose with notes of sandalwood, menthol and chocolate espresso. Taste — smooth, concentrated and dense giving it its textured layers. Dark cherry plum, spice and vanilla are the initial flavors on the palate followed by spice, graphite and minerals adding to its med-long finish. Tannins are sweet and resolved. Drink now; it won’t disappoint!

1.5 hour decant (little fine/cloudy sediment). A stately dark ruby red color. On the nose: red fruit, menthol!!, creme de cassis, sweet rich soil, espresso. Taste: such a smooth, silky, concentrated, dense wine with cherry, spiced plum, graphite, licorice, tea, and a minerally medium plus finish surrounded by such sweet tannins...all hugging this big boy 15.5% alc wine.

Bday wine for me- bought and stored from when I first started drinking good wine. Excellent fruit, supple tannins mask the 15.5% alcohol. Will remember more for the company than the quality (which is excellent but really not my current cup of tea, particularly at this price point).
