Cuvée Clos des Avaux Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir

The bottling by Au Pied du Mont Chauve.
Vibrant, glass clinging purple red. Abundant nose of ripe black cherries in a wooden bowl. Belies the medium full palate, which is a complex melange of juicy black cherry, red apple, plum, and ripe blueberry all supported by bright medium plus acidity and firm (medium plus) tannins. Young but still satisfying, you'll get quite a bit from this Beaune. Should develop well through 2032 or so.

Almost too polished and pretty for its own good. In a good moment.

Right in it's evolutionary sweet spot. Animal, vine smoke, turned earth, autumn leaves & cola nut = Major Beauner!

Colour fading. Tamari nose. Still quite terse tannin but tired fruit. Still quite bright.

Exceptionnal. Easter with parents
