Clean red/blue fruit with touch of earth. Not particularly complex.

Richer than its blended counterpart, and probably more ageable. I appreciate the non single-vineyard for its freshness and prefer that in the summer; but I’d opt for this with a richer winter meal.

The best red wine I’ve had from the Finger Lakes. So much fruit and acid and complexity.

Going local to start tonight, even if local is still five hours West of us. HJW makes some of the best wines in the Finger Lakes. This young, single-vineyard CF is wonderful, good tannins and smokey/tobacco notes, had sediment after only laying down for about nine months since purchase at the winery. Only flaw is that the wine is a little light on the finish, but we'll see how it comes around after a few hours of decant.

750mL is not enough. This is one of those wines that there is simply not enough of once it hits its stride. Great example of Cabernet Franc. Also check out the 2010 vintage. Tasting great.

One of the best cabernet francs I've had from the #flxwine region. Crunchy dark berries woodsy spice. Dried herbs in the back. #nywine

Raspberry and big cherry with some black pepper. The tannins have smoothed and it’s just lovely.

Still tight and tannic in its youth. I can see potential going forward.

Good but not excellent Cabernet Franc The best New York Cabernet I have had, but still a weak showing. Not worth its high price. Real proof that red wine should not be made in New York.
