Hermann J. Wiemer
Josef Vineyard Riesling
Mark and I agreed to meet up at Classic this afternoon for some quick wine drinking, but it eventually turned in to a small wine gathering! Wine is great, but sharing it with others is so enjoyable.
This was a really unique White to enjoy while we waited on the Shafer. Sugar? Yes. Overload? Not at all. Grapefruit, pear, and even some animal cracker after taste! Finger Lakes Riesling is something to keep an eye on.

Very citrusy! Grapefruit, orange, sweet lemon. And yes, sweet.

Nov 26th, 2015Love the vineyard-designated Rieslings. They speak subtly of place.

Oct 16th, 2015Another great wine from my recent trip to the Finger Lakes. The Hermann Wiemer Josef Vineyard Riesling 2013 was poured alongside of two other single vineyard designate Rieslings to showcase micro-terroir. True to form, Josef Vineyard is a warmer, more protected site, and the wine is perceptibly lusher than its siblings, with showy notes of white peaches, honeysuckle and pear. Arching acidity finds its course through layers of glycerol-laden stone fruit and delicate traces of minerality. 11% ABV | Sample
