This Chavignol-based cuvée is very deep. Nose has just-ripe orchard fruit, with a fleeting tropical suggestion, an herbal/minty note, and a deep mineral stank, almost feral in nature. Deeply flavored too, it’s bone dry and full bodied, and while there’s an up-front bit of fruit, the huge minerality quickly takes charge. Medium acids. Another Chavignol geology seminar in a glass.

The 2018 Sancerre Jadis has a sense of liveliness through its plump core. When I say plump, it still remains mid-weight at most in body and bounces gently along the palate. It's silky and supple offering fine chalky texture. It was first produced in 1998 to reflect the style of the wine that their grandparents produced, so oak barrels and concrete tanks were used rather than the more modern stainless steel tanks.
