Hall Wines
Terra Secca Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Hall churns our cabs like they are iPhones...new one every year it seems! To their credit, they have all been very good. This is a baby...even after a lengthy decant, it’s really not ready to drink. Tart raspberries and strawberries on the nose...maybe even dirt covered dates? Acidic on the palate. Blended up blackberries and stems, dark cocoa powder, and a finish of red and black fruits. Give it some time.

Dec 10th, 2017Badda boom. What a flavor bomb. Glad I gave this some time in the bottle and a good decant. Dark violet in the glass. Loads of blackberry, cherry and a burst of cedar cigar box. Once again Hall delivers with toothy tannins and long tasty finish.

Aug 18th, 2023A bottling from Hall’s appellation series, the expressive nose showcases black currant, ripe plum, mocha, fall foliage, and crushed rocks. Medium to full, the palate is concentrated and well balanced. Plush tannins.
Fruits were sourced from the soda canyon area (roughly between Stags Leap and Atlas Peak). 26 months in French oak barrel, 65% new.
I think I like the North End bottling a bit more.

Feb 6th, 2022Hall Wines- terra secca - 2016 - cabernet sauvignon - Napa Valley. Italian for dry earth, terra secca describes the soil from where these grapes were born. From the eastern hillsides of Napa Valley comes this amazing cabernet sauvignon. I love a juicy, yet bold, dry wine with a leftover buttery texture on the tongue. I feel it helps to neutralize the dry finish and makes this wine go KA POW! “May I have another?”

Apr 7th, 2021Genius cab from the Hall team. The nose is like walking into a floral shop. Loads of fruit and just a bit of spice. I've been a fan of what Hall is doing and this one delivers in spades. 2014 is ripe for the drinking.

Nov 7th, 2020Very much in line with other Hall cabs. Big, bold, beautiful fruit, and very well made evidenced by the great balance, long finish, and terrific profile of flavors that you want in a Cabernet.
