Vin d’ eau… in a good way. Clean. pure. fresh. White gold (if that’s a color).

Pale lemon with fragrant aromas of tropical and citrus fruit with hints of garden spice. The palate shows fresh fruit flavors of peach, nectarine, lemon zest, and crisp apple, with the subtle biscuit and mineral tones from lees contact with no malolactic fermentation. The wine has lively acidity on a medium length finish ending with creamy tones. Good value! Very Nice! Tasting Sample!

The 2018 HALL Sauvignon Blanc is a terrific new effort by this talented winemaking team. On the nose this takes on an alluring bouquet of crushed white flowers with citrus blossom and shades of green apple. The plate combines wonderful freshness and soft texture with copious orchard fruits that march with the lemon oil and minerals. Enjoy this beautiful new wine in the short term. Drink 2019-2024- 91

Had another bottle in my cellar. Hall, located in Napa Valley, employs organic small-vine viticulture. Straw with green edges and fragrant aromas of tropical fruit and citrus zest with hints of complex spice. The palate shows fresh fruit flavors of peach, mango, lemon, and notes of creamy honey. The wine has lively acidity on a medium length finish ending with mineral tones. Good value! Very Nice! The '16 developed nicely over the year + sitting in my cellar.

Had a chance to taste 2015 along side of 2016. Hall, located in Napa Valley, employs organic small-vine viticulture. Straw with green edges and fragrant aromas of tropical fruit and citrus zest with hints of complex spice. The palate shows fresh fruit flavors of peach, mango, lemon, and notes of honey, bit creamier than '16. The wine has lively acidity on a medium length finish ending with mineral tones, rounder than '16. Good value! Very Nice! The '15 is great now give the '16 more time.

Grapefruit, lemon zest & creme fraiche come through on the nose & pallate.  The later presenting a smooth creaminess, providing a welcome balance to this wines bright acidity. An elegant approach to Sauvignon Blanc which was stellar by itself but also made a good pairing with a Mexican spiced shrimp bake! ($32) [2/5/22]
