Craig's Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Deep ruby color with a reddish rim.
Fruity nose with cedar, vanilla, licorice and chocolates.
Full bodied, soft and smooth, with medium acidity.
Dry and fruit forward with nice complexity.
Showing blackberries, black cherries, black plums, cedar, chocolates, vanilla, black pepper, light bitter herbs and light earth.
This young Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is already delicious.
A little forward right now, but very enjoyable, especially with barbecue meats or a burger. Good by itself as well.
If you like a young Caymus, this will be a better option. High on the alcohol, but it is not that noticeable.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 3 hours of airtime. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years.
A good sipping wine and good for parties.
I paired it with dried meats, cheeses and crackers.
15.7% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
$50.

Interesting nose on this vintage. Tobacco, vanilla, dark cherry, and some baking spices. It’s a bit hot on the palate and leaves me asking for a bit more from this fruit.

Mar 20th, 2022This wine gets better with each vintage. Notice the label now says “Cabernet Sauvignon” instead of red wine indicating a change in varietal content. It’s noticeable.

Jul 31st, 2021Big beautiful red with enormous fruits. Rich nose full of fleshy red fruits backed with black pepper and black currant. Mouths full of fruit that lasts and last. Clean but lingering finish with the perfect balance of tannins. Solid wine and perfect for sipping or with a nice bold dinner!
