The 2021 Pinot Noir SLH is a very pretty appellation-level offering. Dried herbs, tobacco, cedar and crushed autumn leaves add lovely complexity and nuance to this soft, understated Pinot from Hahn. There's plenty of subtlety and overall appeal here. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, November 2023)

Founder Nicky Hahn, grew up speaking German. In his native language, the word ‘Hahn’ means rooster, which is why a depiction of this bird has always graced the label of his wines. Aromas of dark berry fruits with sweet dried spice notes. On the palate cherry and blueberry with oaky notes, cacao and sweet spice. Fine grippy tannins, savory, lingering ending with fruit and mineral tones. Nice value!

Love this lighter fruity Pinot Noir. Black cherry, cola, a bit of spice

Tonight I have opened the 2013 Hahn SLH Pinot Noir at the request of a close wine friend Dominus. I picked this up this afternoon to give it a go and I am glad I did. Thanks Dom for the suggestion.

On the nose there is nice fruit of cranberry and red raspberry. There are notes of clove, cola, hints of caramel and dusty soil.

The palate has a medium mouth feel with notes of cranberry, cherry, cola, nice vanilla, mushroom and a touch of oak. There is a medium + acidity more on the + side with medium low tannins that are smooth and pleasing.

Holiday spice and cran-pom infused with the baked cherry notes. Fuller bodied Pinot the delivers complexity and a hint of char-grilling.

Well rounded Jelly nose on smell. Metallic light body is more forward than the fruit on taste. Mild alcohol presence with slightly stingy finish. May be a good compliment to a fatty or strong cheese as it has a cutting quality that may wipe that palate. Price point is slightly high for the taste of experience. The smell is the better step of this liquid journey. Perhaps it’s attributed to more lighter fruit such as strawberry and less deep ness from darker fruits.

Nice CA Pinot. Hear many good things about the appellation. Need to explore further. Plenty of fruit, nicely balanced with minerals and tannins.

Aromas of berry fruits and spicy floral notes. On the palate tart raspberry and cherry flavors with herb tea and a touch of pepper spice. Fine soft tannins on lingering finish ending with toasty earthy mineral tones. Nice value.
