Gorgeous nose. Wow. Really impressive. Dark, and high toned at the same time. Amazing granite and breadth. Smells like a Chambollized Cornas. Just so so fragrant. Lavender, thyme, oozing black berry fruits. Wow. Elite. Elite aromas. Just wowza. 9.6 off the bat. Palate has that classic Farge freshness. I think he’s using whole cluster ferments and it shows with a terrific complexity but also a bit angular out of the gates. But it will come together with air and age as all whole cluster wines tend to do with time. What a nose. A true “essence” nose. So clean. Such clarity. Wowza, the freshness and energy is crazy. Fruit is mainly red and provides a terrific contrast to the nose. This seems like it will need 3+ hours to breathe. But great potential. I’ll be back.
With some air it gets more integrated on the palate with red fruits and awesome acids and freshness. Love it. So unique.
After even more air it gets a wonderful clay like thing. Very olive on the palate. Terrific.
