Brauneberger Juffer Riesling "GB"
Nose is classic GB. Richness, melon, slate, matchstick, creamed corn (garmanbozia!) custard, herbals, cantaloupe, dusty tree bark, spices and more. Palate is so intense and so concentrated with pulverized rock minerality and it’s so refined, so elegant and so pure. Huge lemon lime fruit and even some sweet green apple and dehydrated green apple skins. Impossibly complex and just that pulverized rock minerality. Unreal density without weight and such power and grace. Crazy acids and such breath on the fanned out finish. Young but such a stunner. Wow. So intense. One of, if not the best, GB.

Jun 5th, 2024Stunningly elegant and refined nose of slate, vivid pear, peaches, melon and apricot. Hugely fruit driven aromas but on a bed of slate. Wild herbs and flowers. Gorgeous delicacy and refinement. Palate is complex, concentrated and very young. Almost backwards. Mouthwatering and superbly mineral this needs mega air and is not nearly as open as the Hengelberg. But what a finish. So long. Even in the small amount of time this has been opened it is transforming. Wow this finish might be longer than the Hengelberg. It keeps pushing and pushing. Wow this keeps getting more elegant and integrated. This is so well knit. Amazingly complex and highly structured finish that pushed minerality to the nether regions of one’s palette. Amazingly juicy throughout. The nose is now very saline and slate like. I’ll be back and presume my score will be higher.
