Great lift and freshness for a cerasuolo despite showing the Sicilian ripeness. Candied red and purple fruit, prune plum, and a distinct but pleasant hint of burnt caramel on the nose. Judicious sweetness on the finish. Fabulous qpr.

One of the darker, more extracted Cerasuolo di Vittorias I’ve had. Clearly the Nero d’Avola holding sway. Nose has leather, turned soil, dark berry juice, crushed rock. A bit brighter in the mouth than the nose suggests, with rich fruit buoyed by pretty good acids. Lots of fine-grained tannin. Pretty good.

Very reduced. Should have decanted for a few hours but my thirst got the better of me.

Bright red cherry, raspberry. Light moss on nose. Med to med+ acid, med- body. Herbal notes on the finish. Wild berries / bramble. Minerality is there too. Crushable.

Deep crimson. Blend of Nero d’Avola and Frapatto. Medium bodied with good acid. Savoury. Needs some mid palate fruit oomph.

Another impressive effort from #Gulfi. So much charm for the money. Juicy and brambly and herbal. All kinds of amazing value coming from #Sicily right now.

Blend of Frappato and Nero d’Avola make for a surprisingly interesting easy drinking bottle at excellent value (ours was $18). Fruity and fun but with some backbone. Drank with a pesto on radiatori.

Bright and tangy nose, took 20 mins for a carbonic thing to settle and then this was phenomenal. Pinot-like, with a strawberry ‘lift’ to it. Versatile, concentrated and yummy, went nicely with tuna and veal chop. @Delect Able I’m taking some time off till the bugs are fixed...this app just getting too frustrating to use.
