Great nose and showing signs of maturity. Lurid aromas of red berry fruit, smoked meat, granite, herbs and smoke. Really gorgeous nose. Unreal terroir expression and so so vivid. Brilliant. 9.7 nose. Palate is ripe and juicy with terrific freshness and purity and all red fruits. Maybe a hint of cassis. Such freshness and energy here. Long finish.

I love 21 N Rhone. 12% alcohol here. Olives, game, smoke and flowers on the nose. Juicy, elegant palate with terrific length, purity and all red fruited and mixed with minerals and herbs. So fresh and energetic. Awesome. After around 20 hours this is crazy good. More depth and concentration. Awesome fruit. 9.3 to 9.4.

Cotes de Rhone from this Cornas-based producer…dominated by smoke, rocks, ash, tar and earth, dried medicinal herbs, lots of glycerine with only the faintest hint of black and purple fruit peeking out. Typical of the winemaker and the category in general (that is, non-Allemand Cornas) in the sense of being somewhat unapproachable and frankly not that much fun. Gets points for authenticity I guess

Crazy good albeit a little ripe, exudes character. Lots of Scortched earth, charcoal and camphor, complimented by dark berry and winter spices. Truly great and hard to believe I bought recently for under $40. I’ve had the current vintage and it reminds me of either gramenon (kermit) or domaine du mas blanc (colliure). Awesome stuff

Sophisticated. Like a marriage between CHP and Cornas. Cotes du Rhone on a higher level.

I guess this is technically not Cornas? Has the vibe though. I believe 100% Syrah. Young and tight, full, rustic. Nose of rosemary, smoked meat, white pepper continues on the palate with ripe blackberries, black cherries, red currants, licorice. More time and/or a hearty stew would do nicely.

One of my favorites wines. Perfume of smoke, gritty smoked meats, lavender, herbs and granite. Just an insane nose. 9.6. The herbs are a knockout. This is the best aromas I’ve ever had from this bottling. Palate is so rich., bright and deep. Such luscious and bright fruit. Bursting with blackberries and red currants. Lovely incisive depth here. Long and velvety. Has structure to burn and a long life ahead of it. Very primary but awesome today.

Wow, a lot of bang for the buck here. Great wine. Blood, smoke, spice and cooling fruit. Thick slather of minerals, black and purple fruit. Firm tannins, this is delicious but will probably be better in a few years.

Smokey cool minerals on the nose. Purple fruit. Pretty tannic… a little stern.

Blackberry, also some barnyard funk, licorice, anise, very earthy and mineral, floral, violets, granite, young as fuck. Like all you can say it’s young. But it’s all there. Juicy and deep, but man this is young, deep and ripe, but bordering on overripe.
