Inky ruby. Smoke- and spice-accented cherry liqueur, blueberry and violet scents are complicated by hints of olive paste and cured meat. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering intense black and blue fruit, bitter chocolate and licorice flavors and a spicy touch of cracked pepper. The meaty quality comes back on the finish, which shows solid thrust, strong persistence and well-knit tannins. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, September 2019)

Love me some Gilles . From higest parts of Chaillots vineyard. 2015 is awesome. Still young with dark fruit, dark cherry, plum with back palate of lingering black pepper starting to come out. Inviting tannins paired with Cacio e Pepe. I cant quite put my finger on it. But theres something very Italian about this appellation. 😃

This is so fucking good. Carbonic lift at the beginning that leads into black pepper, black olive, tart blueberry, ripe blackberry, and loads of Rosemary.

Youthful purple. Dark berries, violet and black olive on the deeply scented nose. Juicy, penetrating and spicy on the palate, offering densely packed, slow-to-open blackberry and bitter cherry flavors and a smoky topnote. Chewy tannins give shape to the persistent, spice-tinged finish, which strongly repeats the cherry note. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, Mar 2016)

Smoke, char, tar and graphite on the nose. Aroma spectrum focused on secondary aromas. Chalk, mineral, well integrated wood, ground black pepper, baking spices, beef reduction.
Lively acidity, melting tannins, lingering finish. Excellent old world Syrah. Drink now or by the end of next year.
