Yountville Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon

60 year old vines oldest in the valley ~ Scarecrow vines.
Double cordon, dry farmed.
Vanilla, coconut, cranberry meringue pie, cream fraiche, red cherry, sweet baking spices, iron/sanguine, elevated acidity.
Fine grained smooth tannins coating roof. Long finish on concentrated red fruit. 90% Cab Sauv, 10% PV. 20 months in French oak.

Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe berry fruits, herbs and earthy oak spice. On the palate black cherry, raspberry and black currant flavors with espresso, cacao and earthy notes. Well balanced, lively acidity, fine ripe tannins long ending with fruit, oak and tobacco spice! Nice!

Luscious, full bodied and deep. But not exciting. Very expensive.

Wow. Super soft tannins and ready to drink now or lay down in the cellar.

A very solid and nice wine but with a price tag at $185 it is an easy pass (at least for me).

Great wine, paired it with some brisket. But did this price I’d rather have a Burgundy!

huckleberry, herbal notes, espresso, and bay leaves.

Nicely balanced in flavor. A bit of fruit on the nose. Very smooth.
