Graziano Prà
Amarone della Valpolicella Corvina Blend
I know that Prà is better known for their whites, but this 12 year old red is drinking really well. Light and restrained, but with a lot of mineral character, tobacco, and blackberry. Reminds me of Beaujolais.

Apr 28th, 2022Ruby with with aromas of dried fruits with floral and smoky spice notes. On the palate plum and sweet cherry flavors, savory, with citrus, pepper & cacao. Soft tannins, chewy on lingering finish ending with an oak and juicy fruit character.

May 13th, 2019This is a scrumptious Amarone! Aromas of toasted chestnuts and warm coffee beans on the nose, reminded me of buying roasted chestnuts from the smoking barrels of the street vendors during Christmas time in Paris when I was young. Some black fruit, baking spice, and dark chocolate on the palate as well. The tannins are so smooth yet very present, and although there is 16.5 alcohol, is is well integrated and balanced. It is not overly sweet and would pair nicely with roasted meats and hearty vegetables. This one is not just for dessert!

Quite intense and sweet attack , dried fruits , sweet spice, liquorice. Ok acidity , sweet but present tannin , lacks a little freshness and length, dried spices fruits on the finish . Alcohol is noticeable , but less than you would think for 17%, and the sweetness is quite noticeable. Drink now and over the next 5 years or so.
