La Cuvée Gran Reserva Brut Cava Macabeo-Xarel-lo-Parellada

See my notes on the 2011. The 2015 here has more pears and is slightly sweeter, otherwise the review still stands.

Note a ton of nose on this glass. Bright red apple skins, like a red delicious. A bit of citrus, sweet clementines.

If you don't know Gramona you should

Pale lemon, medium intensity aromas of lemon, elderflower, flint; youthful; dry, high acid, medium alcohol, medium body, creamy mousse, medium intensity flavors of tangerine, lemon, flint, medium finish

Gran Reserva 2011: ripe and rich and bold. Red apples, ripe peach, biscuity, toasty. Medium bodied and very soft, smooth with a fine light mousse. Minerally, biscuity, bready. One for the cheeseboard.

Full bodied cava with typical tones of sherry grapes :-)
