Cabernet Sauvignon grossheppach

Like German Volnay made from Cabernet Sauvignon. Juicy and so textured. Very refined. Nose is super floral, cassis, tar, cocoa, velvety tannins. So fresh, textured, lacey and vibrant. Elegant and so so pretty.

Decanting now, forthcoming notes...
I can tell you it's likely a crazy bottle, 100% Cabernet, from Germany, with a very dusty cab fruit jam nose going into the decanter, I'm very excited.
Color is deep, translucent ruby. Nose is spicy, ripe cherry/black currant, loam-ey earth. Palate was distracting initially as there was a little heat from the alcohol (11-14% I'd lean to the higher) but it has mostly disapated with more air and slight chilling. After a couple hours we are arriving at an elegant Cabernet, probably enjoying too young this evening (this is the youngest cab we've ever had), but revealing some future promise. Perhaps I am naive to German Cabernet, so possibly biased to Bordeaux or Napa, this is different than both and catches our attention. I have to say, the bottle is improving in leaps the longer it's open...
72hr Update: Nose is a little muted today, but damn the palate is silky smooth, and showing nice, dusty red fruit today. Wonderful!

Gorgeous nose. Leather, red currents, wet moss, tobacco, mint, really terrific vivid aromas. Palate is soft yet juicy with whipsmart acidity. Wonderful freshness and length. So juicy. Very complex and drinking so well. Reminds me of Chateau Le Puy from the Cotes de Francs. @Delectable Wine this is from Wurrtemberg and not California. Thanks!

Global warming at its finest a German Cab! Light and fresh. A Burgundian style Cab if that exists! 😎. Ridiculously intense black currant aromatics. AMAZING. 🌈.

What a Cabernet. Outside of Bordeaux this is only Cabernet I work with. There is a reason. Nose is a bit quiet out of the gates but has some beautiful elements of classic Cabernet. Cassis, deep minerals, some wet moss and soil tones. Really lifted aromas after some coaxing. Palate is so elegant. Yes this is 100% ELEGANT Cabernet for $24.99 a bottle. I never mention price of my own shit but this is notable for being so fucking great for so cheap. Refined and juicy with a lovely core of cassis fruit and good structure that tells me this can age 10+ years. Needs 30 minutes to really start shining. What fruit. What power. What finesse. What minerality. What poise. Balance is amazing. This is a ridiculous bottle of wine. So impressed. @Delectable Wine this is from Wurrtemberg and not California.
