Lovely for the price. Rich on the palate. Red-fruit driven with brioche, nougat, cola, and Whopper's malted milk balls. Delish.

Dec 25th, 2016A blend of 67% pinot noir and 33% chardonnay, has aromas of perfectly ripe stone fruits. The palate packs a punch with apple and pear flavors, sitting in a light mousse that is well balanced. The finish shows some wood which gives the wine weight ending with a generous mineral touch. Great value but now is the time to drink the 2006.

Apr 18th, 2016A wonderful balance of color, effervescence, flavor, body, and dryness yet with the crispness expected.

Mar 21st, 201667% Pinot Noir, 33% Chardonnay aged 5+ years on the yeast.
If you normally purchase $15 domestic sparklers you should try this and see what an additional $5+ will do for quality.
A bit high in dosage for me to make it into serious territory and a tad under the impressive 2006-vintage but still very recommendable.

Feb 8th, 2016Another lovely and lively California sparkler from a vertical tasting of Gloria Ferrer's Royal Cuvée Bruts. The 2001 is as charming as the other vintages I've tried, though it shows an evolution in the house's style—a trend toward a lighter, slightly softer, fruitier bubbly. It's delicate and focused, like Chantilly lace, inlaid with traces of mineral veins that hem in notes of anise, blackberry and brioche held aloft by a fine, frothy mousse. 12.9% | ABV Sample
