Ruby in color with medium intensity.

Sweet nose with red candy.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with mild complexity.

Showing red currants, bing cherries, raspberries, herbs, coffee, Mediterranean spices, peppercorn, green pepper and licorice.

Short finish with round tannins and tangy cranberries.

This 11 year old South African red blend is nice, but too thin for me. A little unbalanced, and better with food.

Needs an hour to open up properly.

Smells like a Pinot Noir from California, but earthier on the palate, and feels more like an old world red. Very interesting.

A blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Shiraz, 11% Petit Verdot and 6% Merlot.

14% alcohol by volume.

88 points.

Wow, nice Left Bank blend from Stellenboisch. If I didn’t know I would have guessed BDX for sure. Great classic nose. Layered red fruit. And a total steal from Cosco. Grippy tannins but mellowed enough where this is ready to drink quickly.

Really good, under the radar wine. Very old style Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from Stellenbosch. Nose is black fruit- currants, blackberries. Influence of the Syrah really comes through. Tannins are fairly smooth, not overly harsh, but was expecting a bit more velvety texture given the age. Finish has medium length. This will be best with food - red meat or some fat. Watch this producer - the quality here was really good. 2011 vintage on Aug 8, 2018.

Green bell pepper and pencil shavings on the nose. Tart blackberry and baker’s chocolate on the palate. Rich and fairly full bodied. Overall quite tasty!

Located on southern slopes of Simonsberg, owned by May-Eliane de Lencquesaing, former owner of Bordeaux Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse. Lemon color with aromas of stone and citrus fruits, adding slight spice. On the palate flavors of ripe apple, pineapple and lemon with nutmeg and smoky toasty notes, full-bodied with medium acidity. Medium+ finish, good balance. Tasting Sample.

Love this red blend. Read some of the other reviews to learn about the nose and taste of this wine. I get wet forest and a little wood fire or fire pit on the nose. But it’s awesome. Go buy some.
