A gorgeous bottle which opened up even quicker than expected. Beautiful and expressive showing red currant, violets, mocha, dried herbs, silky tannins and a hint of saddle leather. Finishes with excellent length and depth.

Wednesday Wine Committee. 1 sparkler, 2 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine. All tasted blind as usual.

Much better compared to the ‘98 it shared the table with. Much more lively...black peppercorn, tar, bay leaf, rose petal and a density in the middle without being too heavy. Tart red and black fruits all over the entry and finish. Still on the upward trajectory. I called this CdP.

From the iconic Giuseppe Rinaldi, ultra expressive and with superb complexity and concentration, dark fruits, plum, mocha, dried flowers, emerging into elements of damp earth and spice. The tannins are firm and grippy and the finishing is lingering and seductive.
