Ballin on a budget 😎 Delicate, perfumed, silky across the palate. Lots of class for its DOC. Dried cherry, blood orange, sous bois, fern, sage, fennel fawns, licorice candy, rose, tar, and Ceylon cinnamon. Juicy attack, melds to elegant glints of earth, spice, and savory elements. Acid driven, tannins show their pedigree, a charmingly rustic wine that reflects Mauro’s style.

Nose of rose pedals, ripe almost candied cherries, leather, and red licorice. On the palate it opens up with red fruit reduction but it still retains acidity and soft but noticable tannins on the finish. Some hints of sweet spices like cinnamon and nutmeg are in there as well. ETOH warmth lingers.

Kind of a crazy wine. Kudos to the winemaker for producing a ripe, almost opulent wine that still has elegance and structure.

Muscular and powerful, but quite approachable. Will gain more complexity, I’m sure, but delicious anyway.

Great then odd. Fabulous nebbiolo structure and aromatics for about 30 mins. Then either shut down or just went a bit odd. Will cellar.

Hopefully something wrong with this bottle. It’s not bad but it’s not great. Seems too mature and closes very quickly.

Bright and fragrant, with lovely red cherry note. Dried mushroom, strawberry, and a bit menthol. Medium-high acidity and moderate tannins. Aged 6-8 months in used medium Slovenia oak barrel. A declassified Barolo with a Barolo price tag. Not bad, but I will take a lower-priced Vietti or Massolino Barolo anytime.
