Barbaresco Nebbiolo

2006... great year for the Italians.

Nebbiolo trips me out... there’s many other grapes out there that are the same colour of a rusted out trunk of a Mazda 3.

Smells like a pack of Marlboro’s.

Opened a 2006 in 2020. Worth the wait. Almost creamy.

This was a WTSO buy for me, and it was quite nice with a bit of age on it!

Earthy and easy to drink

Freshly crushed cherry, tar, leather, cigar box, cranberry, balsamic, smoke, and medium tannins. Amazing Barberesco for the price.

On the brink of being past-peak but still salvageable. Exceptionally earthy... full of minerals and tar, florentine leather... cue the pretentious roll of the eyes while you ponder the difference between florentine leather and other leathers.

Great elegance and body. Ready to drink.

Almost overpowering. It needs something robust like red meat to complement it.
