Barolo Nebbiolo
Barolo, Cuneo, Piedmont, Italy
I’ve had lots of bottles of this wine in different vintages over the years. All have been rewarding. This one stood out. It reached beyond others. Just the right time. Hope I have another one.

Apr 5th, 2020An elegant Nebbiolo with notes of plum, black cherry, sundried tobaccos, and dusty leather with velvety tannins. This bottle will be at its best a few years from now, and that's saying a lot given how rich and textured it currently sits. #winekylecanbuy A bit pricey but #qpr for the comparables. It's good to be the king.

Tighter than a pigmy butthole. Yet strangely approachable. Decant for a day.

Barely starting to open into a drinking window, this is lean with black cherry, saddle leather, granite minerality and elegance. Medium-light body with tightly knit tannins and balanced acidity. Pretty textbook result from Nebbiolo in this region. Nice value.

Tar/earthy, big but smooth tannins. Great finish with my steak. Excellent.

Extremely closed, although approachable for a Barolo. Tried immediately, after an hour decanting and after five hours of decanting. Only got better, needs lots of time.
