Opened my first bottle of this child's birth year wine at 10 years old. Surprisingly dark, purple color. Nose is pretty classic with herb and hummus tinged plum fruit. The texture here was the high point for me, fine, powdery and yet still engaging tannins that seem to point to additional aging potential. Not super complex but very good.

Popped and poured. Consumed over 90 minutes. Beautifully scented with cherries, raspberries, dried herbs, tar, and freshly bloomed magnolias on the nose. Flavors of tart cherries, black tea, and earth. I sort of expected this to come across more modern but this was actually rather charming! Tannin is well integrated. Good acid. Finish lasts for about 30 seconds. Drinking just fine right now but should hold well into the next decade.
