Langhe Nebbiolo

The colour is so attractive, so seductive.
Gloriously luminous.
Fruit is there, rose petals, tobacco, talc powder.
The wine is just pure joy.
It has a tannin thta screams for food of course, but but excellent quality tannin we must state.
Long and more.

Lean. Plums. Nice grip. Fast

I mistakenly tried to pair this with a tuna/tomato sauced pasta. It showed muddy and dried out.
Next night, I paired the remainder with sushi and it was brilliant. Showing crystalline red fruits with a contrasting/bracing character next to the umami of the fish.

Licorice and strawberries layered over dried herbs and dried flowers wrapped in suede-like tannins. Very pretty.

Not overly complex but good rep of Nebbiolo & showing some development with touch of age.

Slightly juicy ripe cherry and berry fruit with a surprisingly firm tannic finish. It's very Barbaresco-like.

A futur barbaresco for an awesome price !!

Needs sometime to open up, really enjoyed the last 1/3 of the bottle!

2nd coravin pour of the day. I had some doubts at first as I thought I had smelled what resembled a tiny TCA taint scent. It blew off after a while. The nose is a bit muted but I can make out cherry, clay, almond, tar and a tiny gamey thing lurking in the back. The palate is showing a great acid drive, blood orange and cherry notes all along, a great tannic acid wall in the rear, as one might be expecting. The finish is long, strong, drying, showing fruits and a noble bitterness touch. Good stuff !
