Truncated dinner party notes. Ripe fruit on the nose. Surprisingly deep on the palate. So clean and refreshing, yet deeply flavored.

Treated myself to a little pre-dinner beverage while preparing a huge pan of mixed greens. This is one heckuva Soave. Nose shows loads of ripe orchard fruit, lots of fresh straw, meadow flowers, super-clean stoney minerality. In the mouth it’s intense but dry and fresh, even in year 6. A little reminiscent of a Semillon-heavy white Bordeaux. Really nice length, balance, and texture.

If you love the "serious" Soave, get a bottle like this, from Gini winery. Creamy, fruity, silky. So good!

From Garganega, the most widely grown white wine grape in the Veneto region. If you prefer a fruity white, you won't find it here. What you will find are soft, delicate aromatics of dried honey, lemon tart, and a touch of flinty minerality. It's full-bodied and voluptuous in the mouth, with just enough acidity to give it lift. Very nice.

2010 Gini Salvarenza Soave Classico, da vigne su piede franco. Ottimo, anche se molto giovane!

Insanely delicious. Almonds and stone fruit. Reminds me of a Northern Rhône wine.
