Chavignol Sancerre Pinot Noir

This is a fun Sancerre rouge. I've had others more elegant, however that's not what this wine is about. It's bold and interesting and quirky- all in a charming way. Definitely a meditation wine.

2015 Vintage. Lovely rose for a hot day.

Morello cherries, green & black peppercorns, haystack, game, marjoram, dried thyme, mint. Rounded acidity/minimal smooth velvet tannins, medium bodied, satin texture, herbal-gamy finish. Quirky with prominent herbal notes; some reduction that pairs well with venison, red meats, funky cheeses. Do not expect a polished-elegant Pinot Noir.

First Rosé of the season in Seattle, clocking in with sunshine and 58 degrees 😃. Pretty dark on the eye: rose gold, almost burnt orange. Nose sees minerality, some bright red strawberries and raspberries, red and white flowers abound. Palette sees a healthy does of acid (medium), lots of minerality, more bright red fruits, with long finish that moves slowly across your palette.

Delicious mineral driven expressive rosé

Shape shifter extraordinaire. Very much enjoying this.

Dark fruit, figs, and a refreshing green note. Light and easy to drink
