Woodsy. Richer for Cahors. Didn’t really improve with air.

This one took an hour to open up but once it did it was so smooth! It started out a bit too tart for me.

Drank 1/4/18. Nice pairing with char grilled burgers. Would benefit from a couple of hours decanting.

Black fruits, smoke, tilled soil on the nose. Black fruits, plums, soil, and firm, but well integrated tannins on the palate. Medium drying finish, filled with black fruits. It is difficult to discern some of these Cahors malbec's from Bordeaux, but they perhaps posess bit less depth, lack graphite notes, and are a bit lighter in terms of body.

Another excellent vintage of this great Cahors. Just a bit of Merlot and Tannat is blended with the Malbec. Deep purple color and firm structure, but the tannins are very balanced. Ripe Blue and Black fruit aromas and flavors with hints of leather, black licorice and tobacco. Drink now or hold. Excellent!

Nice 100% Malbec from Cahors. Always thought that to be Cahors, had to include 30% of Merlot and/or Tannat. Good weight and mouthfeel, slightly silky but with enough acidity that it wasn't velvety. Dark fruits on the palate, and a bit sweet. Had with the mutton chop at Keens.

I was never a fan of Malbec because the finish taste but this ONE, might have to change my mind about it!
