This is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon from Yountville in Napa Valley.

Full-bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.

Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, light earth, chocolates, tobacco, spices, cola, peppercorn, coffee, mocha and light pencil lead.

Dry and fruity on the palate with nice balance and great complexity.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

What a wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Rich, extracted and elegant.

This 9 year old is drinking very nicely now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

I gave it a couple of hours to open up properly.

I've had the 2009 not too long ago, and it is very consistent. This 2013 vintage is showing up very well.

Good by itself or with food, and a great sipping wine. Delightful and delicious.

A blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot.

14.9% alcohol by volume.

96 points.

$150.

Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.

Gorgeous nose of blackberries, cooked plums, raisins, eucalyptus, earth, dried figs, tobacco, spices, oregano, light vegetables, cedar, vanilla, pencil lead, leather, chocolates, mint, herbs and black pepper.

Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs. Smooth and elegant.

Dry on the palate and fruity, with blackberries, black plums, cedar, tobacco, chocolates, coffee, cola, vanilla, licorice, leather, spices, light vegetables, herbs and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Nicely aged and drinking extremely well now.

Well balanced with great complexity and a smooth mouthfeel. Tasty and tangy with a teeth staining color and a very interesting nose.

Good right out of the bottle and better with airtime. After 3 hours in the decanter, tannins show up and bring nice structure.

Robert Parker 93 points.

Thank you Scott for sharing this with me.

This 11 year old is peaking now, and will be good in the next 5 to 7 years. Rich and extracted. Spicy and interesting.

So enjoyable by itself, but good with food too. A great sipping wine that I paired with great company.

$100.

Highly extracted. Inky in the glass. Dark and brooding. Finish goes on. Delicious.

Good to the last drop - this is a new one for me and I am a believer - decanted for two hours and starting early today - love the dark fruit - the nose draws you in - incredible - the finish is like seeing Usain Bolt in the 100 meters at regular speed but in your mind you enjoyed every step of the race - that good - the taste just swirls and swirls like good kind of merry go rounds you enjoy and wish never stop - man this is what Napa is all about - bravo - love to πŸ˜€πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜Ž

The 2012 is another great example of the reward for patience. The dark fruits of youth are still there but evolving to the dry versions of themselves
Tannins now soft and tertiary earth tar cedar tobacco in balance.

Stone, spice, black cherries and shortbread in the house! Silky smooth with a beautiful garnet color, but little bouquet. Still the wine went very well with Oscar’s prime rib.

@Delectable Wine this is more specifically the alluvial selection cabernet from 2015 . I did not see it in the database . This was a selection at the Gemstone tasting arranged graciously by Al Buis. My rating of this wine at the present time is a 93. I certainly think it is capable of more. TRB wine sourced from the upper blocks of the Gemstone Vineyard. I would say this wine is more medium to full-bodied. Red and black fruits are certainly present. There is a little bit of plum, hint of chocolate, lead pencil, flinty. Finishes with a red clay sort of note. Almost a touch metallic. Loads of tannin here. Not really sweet, just stiff. I look for that to take a decade to blow off. I took about 300 ml from a partially consumed bottle. Plan on trying this again in a couple of days, when I feel this one may be drinking very differently. Very nice wine. 20 years left at least.
