The Gattavecchi family has been making wine in Montepulciano since the1950s, with the purchase of the Poggio alla Sala estate. Ruby with aromas of red berry, herb and floral notes. On the palate tart cherry and raspberry with spice and earthy herb notes. Firm tannins on medium finish ending with some earthy oak. Good now and over next 1-2 years.

Starts out super tight, but after opening up, great mid palate. Like the bottle says, decant, and give this at least an hour to open up.

Herbal and minty as the description says with layers of cherry and dark plum with hints of tobacco. Medium viscosity and medium plus body with gritty firm tannins and a dried cherry finish.
