The Russian River Valley has always been a favorite of mine and their pinot noir's have a soft place in my heart. The wine I have opened tonight is the 2018 Gary Farrell Russian River Valley Russian River Selection Pinot Noir.

On the nose there is wonderful notes of strawberry, cherry, cranberry, herbal notes, clove, vanilla, floral notes, some funk and dusty soil.

On the palate is very expressive red fruit, strawberry, cherry, cranberry, clove, nice herbal notes, hibiscus and dry soil.

This wine is medium bodied with clean fresh fruit mouthfeel, medium to medium+ acidity and very nice medium + soft fine tannins with a long juicy red fruit finish. This is a wonderful pinot noir and if you enjoy pinot noir this is one to have. The weekend has come upon us again and the weather here has finally opened up and looks like the 4th of July weekend is going to be a good one. Please stay safe and healthy and enjoy your holiday. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Amazing nose. I smell berries and floral notes. Would pair well with anything. We served it with ahi tuna tartare. Vintage 2018.

Woah. Vanilla clove and slightly dusty notes overtake the red fruit on the nose but the body is smooth fruity and complex in a fun way. Barely any bitterness on the finish but spicy goodness. Outkicks its price point in a big way.
