Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple of hours. The 2012 “Bacigalupi Vineyard” pours a deep, slightly cloudy, garnet color with a translucent core, moving out to a watery rim. Medium+ viscosity with very light staining of the tears and some signs of light sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with ripe and dried black and red fruits along with black pepper, green herbs, damp forest floor, decomposing woody elements, and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. This was tasted alongside the 2012 Hallberg-Dijon and, while a bit more interesting (gotta be some whole cluster happening), it’s also showing its age and the structure is showing signs of spalling. Drink now

Ohhh, tasty. Opens with sassafras and vanilla. Even better with air, macerated fresh strawberries. Rose stems-or budding rose. A hazy-translucent ruby. Medium to light bodied. Good acidity. Will age well for 15.

Light and acidic. The more time in my glass, the more I enjoyed. Red fruit. Tart. Would love to try this again in a couple of years.

Strawberry-rhubarb, anise, dried leaf. On palate, structured fruit and earth. Long finish.

Vanilla and casis along with red cherry on the nose. Some floral notes; rose petal. Dark cherry on the palate really blasts the drinker. Nice acidity; we’ll rounded.

A better nose than palate. Aromas of flowers, tea leaves. A bit thin in the mouth. I think I prefer the Chardonnay from this vineyard.
