G Major 7 Study 575 OVX Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Blend

This is a model of restraint and balance. Nice notes of cinnamon and caramel on the nose. The palate is smooth and completely linear. Tannins are still prominent, but tucked in nicely. Finishes moderately sweet, with hints of cherries and barrel toast.

Uncorked a 3L for our dear friends whom just finished building their badass outdoor Tiki hut and bar! Badass tiki deserves a badass wine. This G Major 7 did the trick. Definitely my favorite from the GARGIULO lineup. Smooth as silk with depth of flavor. The blue fruit is prominently displayed which I adore. Oak is nicely integrated. Awesome finish of 60+ seconds. I buy this stuff automatically by the case load every year. What an incredible steadfast Winery they are! Literally never had a bad vintage. Even my 2011’s were rockstars.
Badass Tiki Hut deserves Badass in a Glass and this did the job! Cheers! 👍🍷🍷👍.

Apr 16th, 2022Drinking VERY WELL today. This wine is hedonistic. Classic Oakville nose pf oaky blackberry. On the palate, more ripe blackberry fruit, young, a touch of that youthful grit and power, yet has a meaty, savory character and a leathery middle with herbs while maintaining this perfect, ripe blackberry power. Finishes with still QUITE A BIT of tannin. Can go another 10 years but why wait? In a perfect spot right now.

Mar 14th, 2018Subtle aromas of blue fruit, cedar, pipe tobacco, leather and baking spices. Velvety mouthfeel with well integrated tannins backed up by deep flavors of blueberries, currants, licorice and spice. A great Oakville Cabernet. Love this winery!

Oct 30th, 2017Beautiful garnet color in the glass. Light nodes of dark fruit, rose petals and spices on the nose. Elegant tastes of blueberries, dark cherries, cinnamon and a little star anise on the finish. A very nicely structured wine with sleek tannins and just the right acidity. The Cabernet grapes for this wine come from a great area of Oakville as they stared at Screaming Eagle's grapes growing just across the fence line. One of my favorite small, family owned wineries in Napa.

Amazing Cabernet... They taste better when you've been there, stood among the grapes, seen the workers sweating and met the wonderful people behind the wine. Taking nothing away from the wine itself. Loaded with fruit and smooth from start to finish. After an hour the tannins have opened up and are nearly undetectable. It says, "drink me every night and I'll never grow old. "
