Large and approachable with high fruit concentration. Silky with smooth tannins and Nebbiolo acidity, spice and smoke too. Nebbiolo and Barbara dominate this fascinating blend.

Выпито 24.02.20 в офисе КМК по случаю Дня защитника отечества. Редкий ассамбляж 35% неббиоло, 35% Мерло, 30% каберне совиньон. Очень понравилось. Решил купить ящик 2015 года и положить на закладку.

A pretty light purple color with a wide ruby rim. Vintage after vintage, this is about as consistent of a wine as I’ve found. It’s an odd blend, Nebbiolo doesn’t really need help but the Merlot and Cab do add body. On the nose, the fragrant red fruit is supplemented by sagebrush, cigar smoke, and dried roses. Well integrated tannins and very pleasant acidity. Beautifully structured and a very nice level of complexity. It takes time for all of the secondary characteristics to show but it’s more than worth the wait. The palate follows the nose with more smoke and roses. Lively cherries, tobacco, and exotic spices round things out. Not nearly as austere as the Italians that I usually love but this is still a fantastic Nebbiolo.

Was really good. Great evening with family and a new friend in downtown Cleveland. Lots of ripe berries.

Consistently good across vintages good and bad, as one might expect from this great producer.

Red ruby from a blend of nebbiolo, merlot cab sauv. On the palate, red berries and herbs. In mouth, well balanced acidity and tannins, complex, medium bodied, mid end in mouth with delicious residual freshness.
