This 2012 has an interesting story because it was opened a decade ago with a Corivin. Guess what: it’s still fantastic.
Earthy old leather and tobacco mingle with dark blackberries, plum, and dark cocoa.
I hope I age as good as this.

In a dumb phase, but when it opens it’s good. Black currant, licorice, dusty black cherry. Fine acids paired with subtle sweetness.

Tasted the Rutherford against Freemark Abbey's sister wine from Napa (same vintage). I preferred the Napa (albeit, I prefer the left bank over the right bank Bordeaux's). The Rutherford had twice the Merlot over Napa.
Note: after an hour sitting, I've upgraded the Rutherford to a 9.0

Beautiful dustiness with slight dried fruits on the nose. Stewed red fruits and subtle tannins on the palate.

Excellent wine! I like their standard wines for value, but this 2012 Rutherford AVA is impressive. Cheers!

Big oaky flavor matched with strong tannins. This wine can cellar a few more years. Nice fruit with cherry and strawberry finishes. Nice wine that is pairing well with smoked pork tenderloin.

We had the 2019 Vintage on 12/20-21/25. Purchased at Maury’s Steakhouse. A very good Napa Cab with tastes of blackberry, plum, chocolate and oak. A nice spice and Rutherford dust on the finish. Medium to full bodied; New World for sure. Would buy more.
