Fratelli Alessandria
Gramolere Barolo Nebbiolo
Love Alessendria’s Barolos. Totally ready to drink but will keep for another 15 to 20 years. Cherries, Currants and licorice. Very soft tannins with typical Nebbiolo bite at the back palate.

Mar 14th, 2024From barrel I thought the 2019 Barolo Gramolere was quite elegant, but now it’s anything but. At this stage, it is a searingly tannic and forbidding Barolo, with notes of black cherry, plum, leather, licorice and mocha. The 2019 has shut down massively post-bottling. I would not dream of touching a bottle anytime soon. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2024)

The 2015 Barolo Gramolere is powerful and dense in the glass, with a good bit of richness but also less of the tension that is such a signature for wines from this site in Monforte. Cedar, sweet tobacco, pine, mint, dried cherry, licorice and dried flowers develop with air, adding attractive layers of complexity. Overall, the 2015 looks like it will drink well relatively early. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, November 2019)

Mar 24th, 2018The best of the Alessandria lineup in 2013. Meaty, complex and refined. Firmly structured. Delicious. #barolo #2013

Jun 10th, 2016Medium ruby color with aromas of ripe red fruits and hints of floral. The palate brings fruit forward with cherry, plums and hints of fig tastes. Tannins are round, a tad gritty with high acidity noted. The finish is medium, smooth and ends with earthy mineral notes. Very nice.
