Frank Cornelissen
Susucaru Terre Siciliane Nerello Mascalese Rosato
Sicily, ItalyLabeled as a Rosato but should be deployed as a light red given the abundance of tart red fruit and earthy tones. Gentle and refreshing introduction to the Cornelissen style

Aug 12th, 2024Certainly nothing out there like it. As others have noted, more akin to a light red. The red fruit here (cranberry, strawberry, sour cherry) yields to intense baked earth, herbal, dried rose petal and exotic spice, almost recalling amaro but without any sense of heaviness. Brilliant with cauliflower tikka masala

So much love for this rosé. Not into the hype but dig Frank’s rosés.

I found this a Lois’ Natural food store in Portland, ME (still a few bottles there if you’re seeking this wine out. We drank this with a succotash of fresh Rhode Island produce at our Harriman State Park campsite in New York. This wine is f*cking delicious! I also understand this isn’t for all wine drinkers.

Oct 5th, 2018All kinds of delicious, somewhere on the spectrum between a rose and a light red. Cranberry, strawberry, rhubarb, crunchy leaves

Got ahold of three of these allocated babies that get sold out every year by spring.
Volcanic must, spicy berries on the nose.
Wohooo what a mouth punch. Prickly on the tongue. Bracing acidity balanced with an earthy, breezy cherry and berry medley. An herbaceous, mint-adjacent undercurrent as well.
Both stunning, subtle in its way, and stunning in fruit quality and minerality
