Susucaru Terre Siciliane Nerello Mascalese Rosato

Labeled as a Rosato but should be deployed as a light red given the abundance of tart red fruit and earthy tones. Gentle and refreshing introduction to the Cornelissen style

Certainly nothing out there like it. As others have noted, more akin to a light red. The red fruit here (cranberry, strawberry, sour cherry) yields to intense baked earth, herbal, dried rose petal and exotic spice, almost recalling amaro but without any sense of heaviness. Brilliant with cauliflower tikka masala

So much love for this rosé. Not into the hype but dig Frank’s rosés.

I found this a Lois’ Natural food store in Portland, ME (still a few bottles there if you’re seeking this wine out. We drank this with a succotash of fresh Rhode Island produce at our Harriman State Park campsite in New York. This wine is f*cking delicious! I also understand this isn’t for all wine drinkers.

Outstanding. So well balanced. There are a few wines that remind you why they are legendary and this continues to impress me.

Solid dry unfiltered rose volcanic notes, excellent

I like the blossom aromas from the green grape varieties, but otherwise this dark rosato does not do very much for me. Some years it’s excellent, some years are more ”meh”.
